Woman: Husband Set Garage on Fire, Stayed Inside

Inside the Police Blotter: Firefighters were able to bring the man outside and transport him to the hospital.

A woman called authorities earlier this month to report that her husband had set their garage on fire and remained inside. According to the Lilburn Police report, the incident occurred around 1:42 p.m. on the 700 block of Stacey Court, near Burns Road. Numerous fire department trucks arrived on the scene to rescue the man and battle the flames in the garage and, which also had a vehicle inside. The husband was brought out of the garage on a stretcher and was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment. Dispatch advised that the incident could have been a suicide attempt. Lilburn House Fire Ruled as Arson to Cover up Burglary

Investigators are asking anyone to come forward if they have any information on the fire, which took place on the 5200 block of Stafford Drive last Friday.

A fire that destroyed a home in Lilburn last Friday has been determined to be caused by an act of arson to cover a burglary, according to Gwinnett Fire. According to Gwinnett Fire spokesman Lt. Colin Rhoden, investigators deemed the incident as arson after finding several points of fire origin in the house, which is located on the 5200 block of Stafford Drive. Additionally, the home's residents told fire investigators about specific items that were taken from the home. Just before the fire, three Hispanic or ethnic males were seen leaving the residence with some of its contents, Rhoden continued. Medical Center Fire Ruled Arson

A Friday fire at the Georgia Medical Center is being called an arson, and investigators need the public's help with information.

Gwinnett County investigators believe a Friday morning fire at the Georgia Medical Center in Lilburn was an arson. No injuries were reported in the blaze, but firefighters found a broken window with fire damage to the interior of the the office building at 3945 Lawrenceville Highway, according to a press release from Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services. Firefighters first arrived to the medical facility about 9 a.m. on July 20. A 911 caller stated that a lot of smoke was in the office, but that the flames were out. Later, surveillance footage showed that the damage happened during the early hours of the morning. Officials Rule House Fire an Arson

A month after a fire on Vivid Drive in unincorporated Stone Mountain, fire investigators are calling it an arson.

Gwinnett County arson investigators now are ruling a house fire in unincorporated Stone Mountain as an arson. The fire happened about 8 a.m. on June 22, very near Lilburn. And, after many hours "investigators painstakingly reviewed the information found at the scene, the neighborhood and surrounding area and determined that the fire was suspicious in nature," said Lt. Colin Rhoden, in a press release. On the day of the fire, emergency workers arrived to the 5100 block of Vivid Drive, where heavy fire and smoke billowed from a home, according to the press release. Police arrested David Stone, of Snellville, in connection with an arson at Zoar UMC, and fire officials say he admitted to setting the fire.

Arsonist Torches Trash Cans

Police and fire investigators looking into a series of more than 20 intentionally set trash bin fires.

UPDATED Dec. 28 at 11:16 a.m. Several trash cans were burned, but no one was injured in a string of arson incidents that occurred on Dec. 22 in the Dacula area. A New Hope Road resident arrived home shortly after 2 a.m. on Dec. 22 to find Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services personnel extinguishing two flaming trash cans at her residence. The incident was just one of eight reported that evening. Police and firefighters were also called to homes on Gracebrook Drive, Luke Edwards Road and Indian Bluffs Drive. Snellville House Fire Ruled Arson

Officials have determined that a weekend fire was intentionally set.

Fire officials have determined that a fire at a home in the 2400 block of Mossy Branch Drive in Snellville was an act of arson. The home is located in the Brookwood-area's Bright Water subdivision, and it had been burgerlized. Officials say the fire was set "in an attempt to destroy evidence or otherwise mislead investigators." Residents were not home at the time, and no injuries were reported. A neighbor alerted emergency crews to the fire just before 10 p.m., and heay fire and smoke met fire fighters when the arrived shortly after. Arson Blamed for House Fire in Norcross

Neighbors called the fire department Saturday night after seeing smoke coming from in a vacant home on Kay Drive.

Fire Investigators have determined that a fire in a vacant home in unincorporated Norcross Saturday night was intentionally set. The Georgia Arson Control, Inc. is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) responsible for arson. Firefighters responded to a call from neighbors Saturday night at 8:05 p.m. to the 6000 block of Kay Drive, NW located near Singleton Road. Firefighters found the home filled with smoke and a fire in one of the bedrooms. No one was in the home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Arson Blamed for Norcross Business Fire

Fire Investigators found evidence of incendiary device inside building.

At 12:23 a.m. Friday, Gwinnett firefighters responded to a call at a business located in a shopping center on Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. Shortly after arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the office of Envios La Familia Peruana, a courier service and merchandising store for Peruvian products located on the second floor of a shopping center at 7050 Jimmy Carter Boulevard. "Firefighters reported a glass door was broken out when they arrived," said Captain Tommy Rutledge for the Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services. Car Toilet-Papered, Set on Fire

Inside the Police Reports: A car was torched on Burns Road.

A car was toilet-papered and set on fire last week.  The vehicle, described as a white, four-door 2006 Suzi-Aro, belongs to a resident in the apartment complex on the 4800 block of Burns Road, according to arson investigators with the Gwinnett County Fire Department. The victim reported to officers that during the overnight hours of July 26 and July 27, suspect(s) toilet papered the car and then lit the paper on fire. The incident caused minor cosmetic damage to the hood and other parts of the vehicle.  The case is still currently active and under investigation. Suspect(s) could face charges of third-degree arson and criminal trespassing, but no suspects have been established at this time. No motive has been established, either.  Spokesman…
