Business Spotlight: McCorvey's Pro Shop

We regularly feature a business from our hometown of Lilburn. This week, learn more about McCorvey's Pro Shop.

McCorvey's Pro Shop opened in the Lilburn community three and a half years ago. Allen Nichols, the manager of the shop, has been in the bowling business all of his life. Nichols' father was a manager at a Bruswick Zone bowling alley and taught his son a lot about the industry. I recently sat down with Allen to talk about McCorvey's. Patch: What is the best aspect of managing McCorvey's Pro Shop? Allen: Working with different people. Everybody has a different game. Everybody throws the ball differently, they take different steps and working with these differences is how I learn as well. It's the best part of my job. Brunswick Zone in Lilburn is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and manager Scott Hurley is excited. Hurley has been a part of the Brunswick family for the past eight years. He started as a counter person and worked his way into management after switching career paths from the food industry. Lilburn Patch recently sat down with Hurley to talk about Brunswick Zone. Patch: What is the best aspect of managing Brunswick Zone? Hurley: There is a lot of stuff I find rewarding. I love working with and coaching the youth. I like teaching people how to bowl. AMF Snellville provides traditional-style bowling for the entire family

Clement "Geno" Hill II bowled a strike on his very first try; he was two. Now, the general manager of Snellville's local bowling joint, is happy to see that his past-time favorite is still enjoyed by many. “I have always wanted to play on my job,” said Hill, general manager at AMF Snellville Lanes . “I grew up around bowling centers; bowling is and always has been a part of my life.” Hill has managed the Snellville location for three years, but has been an AMF employee for 21 years. Hill said the AMF stands for "Always Means Fun." Ever since that very first strike, Hill hasn't stopped playing.
