GCPS Announces Charter School Lottery Results

On Feb. 11, Gwinnett County Public Schools completed the lottery drawing for placement in the freshman class of Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology.

Gwinnett County Public Schools announced the results of a special lottery held for placement in the freshman class of the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology located in Lawrenceville. Of the 847 students who applied for the school, only 350 spots were available. The other 497 students were placed on a waiting list in the order they were drawn. Gwinnett Charter School To Hold Lottery for Freshman Class

The lottery will take place at the school district headquarters in Suwanee for the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology. Registered parents and students need not be present to win a spot in the upcoming 2013-14 ninth-grade class.

Due to overwhelming response, the Gwinnett County school district will hold a lottery in Suwanee to fill the incoming freshman class at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology. Online registration concluded on Feb. 1, and there were 847 students registered. However, the school can only accept 350 students for 2013-2014. The lottery will be held Monday, February 11, 2013, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the school district’s Instructional Support Center (ISC), 437 Old Peachtree Rd., NW in Suwanee. Students who completed the registration process were assigned a lottery number and have been notified by email of their number, as well as the lottery time, date, and location. Parents and students do not need to attend the lottery. …
