Cobb Man Found Safe in Lilburn

Cobb authorities Tuesday night issued a Mattie’s Call for Odel Littleton. He was later found at a Lilburn church.

A missing 82-year-old man who never made it to a lunch gathering at a Marietta Piccadilly was discovered at a Lilburn church. Odel Littleton of Powder Springs "is reported to be in good health and spirits," Officer Mike Bowman, a spokesman with the Cobb County Police Department, said this evening. Police did not specifiy which church the man was found at. Family members located Littleton, who suffers from dementia, Bowman said. Cobb authorities Tuesday night issued a Mattie’s Call for Littleton, who was last seen about noon Tuesday as he left his home in the 4000 block of Glenn Road in his white 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, Bowman said.

Police ID Cyclist Killed on Bells Ferry

Although the accident is still under investigation, charges aren't expected to be filed.

The bicyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle this afternoon along Bells Ferry Road has been identified as 42-year-old Timothy Austin of Woodstock. Around 4 p.m. today, Austin was riding southbound on the sidewalk of Bells Ferry Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control of the bicycle and entered oncoming traffic, said Officer Mike Bowman, the spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department. A silver 2006 Nissan Xterra driven by Amanda Neill of Lilburn struck Austin, who died at the scene. Neill, 29, was not injured in the crash. Although the accident is still under investigation, she is not expected to be charged, Bowman said.
