After Loss to 49ers, What Should the Falcons Do Now?

Atlanta is again at a crossroads after a heartbreaking loss in the NFC Championship game. Share your thoughts on what the franchise should do moving forward.

The Atlanta Falcons went farther in the playoffs in 2013 than in any year since the 1998 season. Yet, there's still the taste of defeat. And that makes many Falcons fans wonder, "What does it take?" Sunday's 28-24 loss to San Francisco at the Georgia Dome was tough for Atlanta in that the Falcons, who were the top-seeded NFC playoff team, had a 17-0 lead in the first half. According to media reports, that made it the largest comeback in the history of the NFC Championship. That shows the Falcons' chief weaknesses -- defense, and a championship tradition. A high quality running back would be nice. The Falcon's are all pass and nothing else. The opponents stop the Falcons easily. They only need to defend against the pass. The Falcons running threat is non-existant. Turner doesn't go for much yardage any more, and Rogers is too small to be a power back or to count on for too many carries.   more ›

Falcons to Scrimmage at Norcross High School

The popular "Friday Night Lights" series continues when the Atlanta Falcons make the short drive from their Flowery Branch practice facility to NHS for a full scale scrimmage Aug. 5.

Are you ready for some football? If not, maybe the Atlanta Falcons scrimmage at Norcross High School Friday night will get you pumped. The price of admission is certainly enough to get everyone excited. It's free! Now that NFL players and owners have settled their labor dispute and Commissioner Roger Goodell has declared that "football is back," Coach Mike Smith will bring his Falcons to Norcross High stadium for Kia Motors "Friday Night Lights." The gates open at 6 p.m. and the Falcons will take the field at 7:30. During the live scrimmage, several players including the Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and certain position players will be wearing microphones so that fans can get a feel for what it's like to get smacked down by a 300-pound …
