Two Injured in School Bus Accident - Cumming Patch Two young girls received minor injuries from an accident involving two SUVs and a loaded school bus, officials said. News Nearby: Series of Hit-and-Runs End in Fatality

Police responded to the scene of a fatal accident on U.S. Highway 78 and Walton Court in Snellville. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Gwinnett County Police responded to the scene of a fatal accident Wednesday night at the corner of U.S. Highway 78 and Walton Court in Snellville. According to Cpl. Jake Smith, the accident began as a series of hit-and-runs in DeKalb County and ended in Snellville.  The driver caused a fatal accident near Walton Court, police said, then crashed into a building.  Snellville Police were the first to respond to the scene and detained the suspect. Police did not immediately release names of anyone involved. According to an AJC.com, the arrested driver is a 70-year-old man, who police believe was driving drunk and caused at least 15 wrecks along his path. The man may face charges in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties, including vehicular homicide, …

Jorge Quintana, of Gwinnett County Public Schools, confirmed that Dakota Waters was listed as a junior at the Lilburn high school.

Gwinnett County Public Schools is confirming that the teen killed Wednesday in an early morning accident on Lawrenceville Highway is a student at Berkmar High School. Dakota Waters, 17, was listed as a junior at the Lilburn high school, according to Jorge Quintana, a spokesman for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS.) Reached Thursday afternoon, Quintana said: "The school was notified early yesterday morning that Dakota had passed away. The school district dispatched its crisis team, a group of counselors from schools from throughout the district, to assist classmates and faculty. Sharon Mitchell-Golden, of Stone Mountain, turned herself in to police Thursday morning, according to a Gwinnett County Police Department press release. Man Identified in Fatal Beaver Ruin Road Accident

Charges also are pending for one of the drivers of the five-vehicle accident, which killed a 38-year-old man from McDonough, Ga.

Police have identified the man who died Sept. 24 in a five-vehicle accident on Beaver Ruin Road at Interstate 85 and charges are pending for one of the drivers, according to an official press release. The deceased male is 38-year-old Brandon Roy of McDonough, Ga., who was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to Gwinnett County Police Department. Also, police say charges are pending for Kenneth Griffin, 42, of Dacula, Ga., who was the driver of a red 2006 BMW 325Ci. During the incident, Griffin was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Tire Tread May Have Caused Fatal I-85 Accident

A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer.

A Hoschton man was killed in a motorcycle accident which shut down I-85 North during Wednesday evening's rush hour. Investigators say a tire tread may have triggered the fatal accident. Gwinnett County Police say 35-year-old Lonnie Cross was riding his motorcycle in the left lane near the 85/985 split in unincorporated Buford. Investigators say another vehicle had hit a tire tread ahead of Cross, causing the tread to go airborne and strike the rider. Cross then lost control of his motorcycle, which fell down to the ground across the roadway. Cross slid from the bike into the center lane of highway 85, right in the path of a tractor-trailer. The truck driver was unable to stop in time and ran over Cross. The victim was taken to Gwinnett …
