It's Never Too Late For Flu Shots

From pharmacies to walk-in clinics, there are plenty of places in Lilburn to fight the virus.

Many people who intended to get the influenza vaccine this season have already done so, but if you're still considering getting one, there are plenty of reasons to go. "The CDC recommends everyone from the age of 6 months and older to get a flu vaccine," said Suleima Salgado, director of public relations and health promotions for the Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale County Health Departments. "Flu vaccination protects people with chronic diseases, young children in school settings, health-care workers and people who take care of the chronically ill and aged." According to the CDC, there are 36,000 flu-related deaths each year. Salgado warns that there are certain groups that are at high risk for being hospitalized or dying of the illness. …
