Patch Picks: Gwinnett Football Predictions, Sept. 14

Who's gonna win North Gwinnett-Norcross, Brookwood-Archer and Grayson-Parkview, and 10 other games?

Game of the Week: Norcross at North Gwinnett Patch's reader-decided Gwinnett Game of the Week may go down as one of the best games of the season. It has everything you want in a big game: When it comes down to it, the winner will get the inside track to the region title, if preseason projections mean anything. North Gwinnett has been beaten Norcross four consecutive times, the last three times on its way to the region crown. PREDICTION: North Gwinnett 24, Norcross 21 Other game predictions Last week's record: 9-5 (Overall 18-8)   Note: Some …

Get that surprised look off your face. This Friday's Region 8-AAAAAA football opener between Berkmar and Shiloh is a big game. Stop rolling your eyes. For real. Without much fanfare, these perennial also-rans — who won two games between them last year — have gotten off to good starts. Shiloh is 2-0 and with a win over Berkmar can go 3-0 for the first time since 1991, when the old ball coach Charlie Jordan was running the show. Berkmar is 1-1, but just a play or two away from a 2-0 start (the Patriots lost 22-15 to Duluth in the opener). Now, the outcome may not shake …
