Berkmar High Recognized as 'HeartSafe School'
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recognized the school as a school with a designated emergency response team.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta recognized Berkmar High School, among eight in Gwinnett County, as "HeartSafe Schools," during the 2011-2012 year. Clinic workers and first responders recognized: Becoming a “HeartSafe School” involves having a designated emergency response team trained in CPR and the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), holding an annual AED emergency drill, and requiring pre-participation sports physicals, among other requirements. ---------- For more information on buidling a HeartSafe School, check out the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation.
