Parkview Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Seven Parkview High football players signed letters of intent at a special ceremony after school Wednesday.

Wednesday was a moment of celebration for seven Parkview High athletes who officially signed letters of intent to play college football. Many family and friends crowded into the commons area after school for the special ceremony on National Signing Day, Feb. 6. Those present at the Parkview High signing ceremony (and the colleges they will be attending) were: "We congratulate all of the athletes, all of the families, all of you guys for the great support (over) the year," said Head Coach Cecil Flowe at the ceremony. "These guys sitting on this table made a lot of our success possible." Parkview Game Part of Gwinnett County Football Feast

Here's a look at a tasty second-round playoff games for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

On Thanksgiving Day, millions of Americans will plop down in front of the TV to watch football (there are three Turkey Day NFL games). On Friday, our favorite sons from nine Gwinnett County schools will add to the football smorgasboard with their own seasonings in the second round of the playoffs. All-Gwinnett Matchups Highlight Second Round of Football Playoffs

Nine county teams, including Parkview High School, are still alive in the Georgia High School Association playoffs.

Three all-Gwinnett County matchups will highlight second-round games in the Georgia High School Association football playoffs this weekend. In all, a total of nine Gwinnett teams advanced to the second round in three classifications. Football Predictions: Who's Going to Win This Week?

Predictions for Grayson-Shiloh, Parkview-Brookwood, Mill Creek-Norcross, South-Central, and eight other contests.

Well, there may be bigger games in this week, unless you ask fans of Grayson and Shiloh high schools. Our reader-decided Gwinnett Football Game of the Week, matches teams of completely opposite pedigrees — Grayson is the defending state champion, Shiloh hasn't had a winning season since 2003. But here they are, both 3-1 overall and 1-1 in Region 8-AAAAAA, with very real aspirations for reaching the playoffs. Let's be honest, however. A lot will have to happen for the Shiloh Generals to win, which would be about as big of a win as they've ever had. At the same time, Grayson has shown the capability of making game-changing mistakes. Turnovers doomed the Rams, the top-ranked team in Georgia and the nation, in its 22-7 loss to Parkview two …
