In a South Cobb Patch report, the man was identified as 78-year-old Edward Smith, of Lilburn. The man's grandson, Casey Collins, is one of two people being held on a felony murder charge in connection with his death. Sarah Cook, Collins' girlfriend, also is charged. Both are being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, officials said. Smith had not been seen since Thursday, said Sgt. Stephen O’Reilly, who lived with the victim at a Snellville home on Hurndon Road, is awaiting extradition and transport back to Gwinnett County.
A suspect in the stabbing death of a man in Snellville turned himself in to police on April 1 in Escambia County, Fla. The suspect is identified as 24-year old Stephen O’Reilly, who lived with the victim at a Snellville home on Hurndon Road. Brent Francis, the 28-year-old victim, died from injuries Saturday. Before Francis died, however, he was able to tell officers that O'Reilly had attacked him. Investigators believed that O'Reilly fled the scene in Francis' vehicle, and issued a "be on the lookout," or BOLO, for the suspect and the stolen car. Phillip Sailors, the Lilburn resident accused of shooting and killing a young man who pulled into his driveway, is out of jail after posting bail Wednesday. According to jail records, Sailors bonded out of the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 3:34 p.m. Jan. 30. A judged granted Sailors a $10,000 bond Wednesday afternoon, according to defense attorney Michael Puglise. Sailors, 69, is charged with murder in the death of Rodrigo Diaz, who is identified as a 22-year-old Duluth man in police reports. On Saturday evening, Diaz and three friends pulled into Sailors' driveway on Hillcrest Road in Lilburn. The car's GPS took the friends to the wrong house, according to Diaz's family. Update: Jan 30, 5:50 a.m.: Attorney: Increased Crime Made Client Wary --------- Lilburn police detectives continue to investigate a Saturday shooting on Hillcrest Road that resulted in the city's first homicide since 2005. In the incident, 22-year-old Rodrigo Diaz, of Duluth, was shot in the driveway of 537 Hillcrest Road in Lilburn. Diaz was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. He had been shot in the left side of his head with a .22-caliber revolver, according to police. Gwinnett County Police arrested Jamad Wallace of Stone Mountain, Ga., in connection to the murder of a man at a Lawrenceville drug store in 2012.
After a nearly nine month search, Gwinnett County Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of a man at a CVS in unincorporated Lawrenceville. Jamad Wallace, 21 of Stone Mountain, was arrested Wednesday in Dekalb County and taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center. Wallace is charged with murder in relation to the death of Alex Delgado Ramos, 27, of Lawrenceville, last year. On March 4, 2012, officers responded to a shooting at the CVS at 1187 Grayson Highway at around 10 p.m. Ramos was found outside the drugstore with a gunshot to the left side of his head. Gwinnett County Police homicide investigators believe the when and where of a deadly shooting that killed a Duluth woman on Friday, Sept. 21 may lead them to a witness. Police say Monique Marlowe, 24, of Duluth, died of a single shot while she was cleaning a car at the back of the Hertz Rental Car location at 3492 Satellite Blvd., where she was an employee. The business is located near the Gwinnett County Transit pick-up/drop-off hub, not far from Gwinnett Place Mall in unicorporated Duluth. The Gwinnett County Police Department Homicide Unit quickly arrested a suspect in a double shooting that resulted in the death of a Duluth woman and wounded a Duluth man Thursday night. James Rashad Clay, 24, of Duluth has been charged in the shooting that occurred about 9:56 p.m. July 5 at the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel in unincorporated Duluth, according to Cpl. Edwin Ritter, public information officer for the department. Investigators are searching for a motive, he said.
