Another Homicide Reported in Norcross Area

A second person was found shot to death last weekend. Investigators do not believe the cases are related.

Gwinnett County Police reported Tuesday that another homicide has occurred in an unincorporated area of Norcross.  Officers reported to a call of a shooting on Oct. 2 at 1:15 a.m. at 4300 Jimmy Carter Blvd. An officer arrived at the Paces Crossing apartments to find a man in his mid-30s lying near the door of his apartment, shot multiple times, according to the Gwinnett Police release.  The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died as a result of the injuries, according to Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett Police Dept.  The identity of the man is not being released, since police are still attempting to notify his family.  Investigators are still working on the case, according to Smith's statement, and they don't believe there …

Man Found Dead Behind Norcross Area Restaurant

He appeared to have gunshot wounds and be the victim of homicide.

A man was found dead from gunshot wounds in the wooded area behind Las Tortas Locas restaurant late last night, according to Gwinnett Police. A uniformed officer was approached by a woman at around 1 a.m. who said she saw a suspicious man behind the restaurant, which is located at 6131 S. Norcross Tucker Road in an unincorporated part of Norcross. The Gwinnett Police officer found an unresponsive man in the wood line behind the shopping center, and said his body appeared to have gunshot wounds. The identity of the man has not been established, but he is described as a 40- to 45-year-old Hispanic male. Gwinnett Police ask anyone with information to contact them directly at 770-513-5300.

Updated: Police ID Man Found Dead Off Harbins Road

Timothy Lance Kemp, 46, a resident of Harbin Springs Apartments in unincorporated Norcross, was shot in the head.

Updated 3 p.m., Monday Gwinnett Police have identified the victim of Monday morning's shooting homicide in unincorporated Norcross. Police say Timothy Lance Kemp, 46, was the man found dead near the Harbin Springs Apartments. Police said that Kemp had an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Kemp was a resident at the apartment complex, located on the 100 block of Twin Springs Trail at Harbins Road, which is just outside Lilburn's 30047 zip code. Gwinnett County Police received a call at 8:18 a.m. after a maintenance worker found the body while doing his morning rounds, according to Cpl. Edwin Ritter. Kemp's body was located in a grassy area behind the 100 building of the complex.  “We don’t know what the motive is,” Ritter said Monday …

One Dead, Two Critically Wounded in Shooting at Colony Apartments

A suspect was arrested; police said he was holding two children and a woman hostage near the scene of the crime.

One man was killed and another man and a woman were critically injured in a shooting at the Colony of Stone Mountain apartment complex in unincorporated Stone Mountain. A man who was holding two children and a woman hostage near the crime scene has been arrested, DeKalb police said. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping.  Police officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance call found the three victims at 2:20 Wednesday morning. The victims were taken to a hospital. The dead man is believed to be in his 20s, police said in a statement. He wasn't identified in the release.

Police Investigating Lilburn-Area Homicide

Man was shot and killed at apartments near U.S. 78 in unincorporated Lilburn.

Gwinnett Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who was found dead in a breezeway at a Lilburn-area apartment complex Tuesday afternoon. Police say the man, identified as 19-year-old Angelo Larocca, was found around 1:50 p.m. at the 1000 building of the Columns at Paxton Apartments at 4305 Paxton Lane. This is an unincorporated area just off of U.S. 78 between Killian Hill Road and Lake Lucerne. The man was found by a courtesy officer doing routine off-duty patrols in the complex, Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said. Smith said witnesses heard “two or three shots” shortly before the body was found. The victim did not live at the apartments, said Smith. Nobody is in custody, Smith said, nor is there a known motive…

Woman Charged in Stabbing Death of Boyfriend

Domestic dispute led to fatal result.

A 30-year-old Peachtree Corners-area woman has been arrested in the stabbing death of her 32-year-old boyfriend in an incident that occurred at the Highland Lake Apartments on Ashley Lakes Drive in unincorporated Norcross. Police said that a heated domestic argument between the woman, Tiquonda Ranell Campbell, and her boyfriend, Tyress Shebre Malcome of Norcross, occurred Sunday night and resulted in Campbell grabbing a kitchen knife and assaulting Malcome. After the stabbing Malcome was driven by a friend to an address on Beechwood Avenue in Doraville where the incident was reported to police. Update: Police Make Arrest in Stabbing Death

The incident happened Sunday morning at the Sinclair Apartments in unincorporated Norcross.

Updated 1:55 p.m Monday Gwinnett Police have arrested a man and charged him with murder in the stabbing death of a Norcross man Sunday. Police spokesman Cpl. Ed Ritter said via email Monday that Agustin Rangel-Oviedo, 21, of Norcross was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault in the death of Sifredo Palma, 20, also of Norcross, who was stabbed multiple times Sunday morning at the Sinclair Apartments located off South Norcross-Tucker Road, just south of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Additionally, the suspect's brother, Rogelio Rangel-Oviedo, 18, of Norcross, was arrested and charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive. The motive is still being investigated, Ritter said. Officers responded to a call around 8:45 a.m. …
