Van, affixed with sports logos, was stolen out of the driveway of a Lilburn home.
There are better — and lawful — ways to show sports fandom than a car thief did recently in Lilburn. Gwinnett County Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle July 10 in the 5300 block of Harbins Cove Court. Stolen was a white 1998 Plymouth Voyager that was taken from the driveway around 1 a.m. The van had a Georgia Bulldogs logo on the hood and a Falcons logo on the rear window. According to the incident report, the owner told police she heard the sound of a vehicle being started up outside. She looked out the window and saw her van being driven away at a fast speed. It was followed by a black Honda that the woman believed was in on the heist. The case was still active at the time the police report was filed. These Inside Police …

Martinis and shotguns ... probably not a good idea for an evening out - or at home.
At almost midnight on July 6, Lilburn Police were dispatched to a home regarding an "unknown trouble call." Arriving at the home, officers were met by the woman of the house who said that she and her husband had been arguing. What started the argument? While he was making a martini, the top had flown off of the martini shaker and hit her in the face. Before the man knew it had hit her, he had laughed, which had upset her. Though he tried to apologize and explain, she became more upset and started striking him so he began to look for his keys to leave. In the process of looking through her purse, she discovered that her pistol was missing and asked him "where it was." She then went into her bedroom and got a shotgun. She pointed it at her …

These guys claimed the drugs and paraphernalia were left in the car by rappers.
Gwinnett County Police Department's check point on Rockbridge Road at Vivid Drive in the evening hours on July 4th seemed to be troublesome to a couple of men who saw the flashing lights and made an improper turn around to avoid the officers. They were pulled over right away by officers in a patrol car for the improper turn, as well as failing to maintain their lane as they travelled back down Rockbridge. One officer approached the passenger noticing a "strong odor of raw (unburnt) marijuana coming from inside the vehicle." The officer also saw a clear plastic bag containing green leafy material (GLM) on the center console. The other officer approached the driver and asked where they had been and was told that the two men had a recording …

A shoplifting story ... with a twist ...
On June 26, Lilburn PD was dispatched to WalMart for yet another - you guessed it - shoplifting scenario. There were at least 4 that day. While most involve small thefts, this one had a more substantial value at more than $600. A woman was observed by security "acting suspicious in the Home and Living Department." She had a full cart and was observed putting a potato masher, serving tongs and a pizza cutter in her purse. She was stopped as she exited the store without paying for either the things in her cart or in her purse. She admitted stealing all the times to security when stopped. The cart included items ranging from NDS Video Games, Shampoo & Deodorant, bathroom gear, and kitchen utensils; merchandise totalling $617.34. The woman …

Lilburn Police says he wasn't state-certified.
On June 20, Lilburn Police were called to a pain management clinic in reference to a man taken into custody by the on-site security guard. The man, who drives regularly from Kentucky for his treatment, asked the therapist if he could skip his massage and just get his prescription filled. He was seen on video approaching several other customers in the lobby. When he asked if he could purchase their prescriptions, they alerted employees at the clinic. The manager and the security guard approached the man and brought him to the back office and asked him to leave through the back door, without going through the lobby again. The man went through the back to his car, but told the guard he was not going to leave and to "call the police." He sat …
