7-Time Tour de France Winner Stripped of His Titles - Fair or Not?

Do you agree with the USADA's decision to strip seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong of his titles and institute a lifetime ban on future competitions?

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong has fought years of accusations of doping, but he has finally given up the fight. According to Reuters, on Friday the United States Anti-Doping Agency handed down a lifetime ban on Armstrong and stripped him of all his wins. Although the USADA has ruled, should the International Cycling Union challenge the ruling it is up to a Court of Arbitration for Sports in Lausanne, Switzerland, to make the final decision. Fellow competitors have leveled accusations of doping at Armstrong over the years, however he has never tested positive. Still, he said he was tired of fighting the accusations and was moving on, leaving it in the hands of the USADA. His decision to give up the fight prompted Friday's…

The man has never proven positive for drugs in all his testing. I think the USADA is trying to make a statement of "If we can't get you one way, we will get you another!" Relying on hear say from team mates[?] because they have been cought is no way to run a testing facility. Presure from the French is another thing.....Sore loosers, the whole country is MY opinion.   more ›

Roger Clemens Not Guilty, but Should Case Have Even Gone to Trial?

After first a mistrial, in a second attempt to convict him, famed pitcher Roger Clemens was found not guilty of perjury Monday.

On Monday, after months of testimony and who knows at what cost, famed baseball pitcher Roger Clemens was found not guilty of lying to Congress. CNN News reported Clemens was found not guilty on all six of the charges he faced. The alleged perjury reportedly happened when he was testifying during an investigation of steroid use among Major League Baseball players. Last week, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced that it was, again, going after cyclist Lance Armstrong for allegedly using performance enhancing drugs during his 16-year career. This also comes after previous attempts to prosecute him and strip him of his seven world Tour de France titles proved unsuccessful. Our question here is, are these cases something the American people …

One, no, our government has no business spending money on this. This is sports. The governing body should be pursuing and spending the money, our government has no business in this. Not only that, but what is Congress doing calling anybody to testify in front of them for anything? Last I heard, that's what our courts are for. It's not Congress' job to enforce laws, but to make them. Unless I …   more ›

Do You Think It Is Fair to Continue to Go After Lance Armstrong on Doping Charges?

After winning seven Tour de France titles, Lance Armstrong stands to lose them all if found to have taken performance enhancing drugs.

Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong is again facing charges that he used performance enhancing drugs while competing for those titles. If found to be true, Armstrong faces a lifetime ban from cycling and he could lose all of his cycling victories. The Washington Post obtained a letter from the US Anti-Doping Agency that said it collected blood samples in 2010-11 that were "fully consistent with blood manipulation including EPO use and/or blood transfusions." Armstrong's LIVESTRONG Challenge is scheduled to be in Davis on June 24, which is less than two weeks away. Armstrong Tweeted the following statement Wednesday:  I have been notified that USADA, an organization largely funded by taxpayer dollars but governed only by self-…

In fact Lance has tested positive. The UCI is corrupt. Lance paid them off. Anyone who believes you can win the TdF after cancer with your testosterone production take away by half is delusional. Those of us who have followed cycling for decades, long before the general public knew who Lance was knows that he's a doper. Prior to cancer he could barely finish the TdF. Until there is outside, …   more ›
