Bring Fido to Lilburn Farmer's Market

On August 3, the local market will host "Dog Days of Summer," so citizens are invited to bring their favorite pooch.

The Lilburn Farmer's Market will have its second annual "Dog Days of Summer" event on Friday, August 3. The public may bring their favorite pooch to the evening's festivities, where they will be able to get special goodie bags for their dogs and pictures taken. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. across the street from City Hall in the parking lot of the Greenway Trail. Organizers of the event said last year was wildly popular, so they wanted to try it out again. Lilburn Farmer's Market Is Looking for Nonprofit Partners

The market will provide a booth each week for a local not-for-profit organization.

The Lilburn Farmers' Market is supporting local nonprofit organizations by offering a free booth at the weekly market throughout the 2012 season. Several organizations have signed up for a booth, but there is still space available, organizer Mandy McManus said. Having a booth at the market will give the organization exposure and a chance to raise funds by selling bottled water. For more information, please go to www.lilburnfarmersmarket.org and go to the not for profit section, or email lilburnfarmersmarket@hotmail.com.   The Lilburn Farmers' Market is located in downtown Lilburn in the Greenway Trail parking lot every Friday from June 1 to August 31 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Five Things to Know July 21

Guaranteed to tell you something you didn't know yesterday.

Good morning Lilburn. It's Thursday, July 21 and we feel fine. Here's your digital checklist for today. 1. They Have a Day for This? We’re not sure who is responsible for it, but it’s apparently National Junk Food Day today. It’s said to be the one day out of the year when we Americans can chow down chips, chocolate and cheeseburgers without all that calorie guilt. Really? Is this day any different than any other day the rest of the year? But, if you’re a junk-foodie and want to get in the spirit of the day, here’s to you. Toss aside the broccoli and bring on a Scrumpdiddlyumptious Bar. 2. You’re Not Going to Let Snellville Win, Are You? We love our Friday night farmer’s market in Old Town, but how much do you? The Lilburn Farmer’s Market …

If you don’t know much about Old Town, it’s about time you did. This weekend, the weekly Friday (4 p.m.-8 p.m.) Lilburn Farmer’s Market gives you best of local produce and other items.
