Arrests Made in Connection with Murder of Gwinnett Woman

Two of a 64-year-old woman's neighbors on Alamein Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville have been arrested. One has been charged with her murder.

Gwinnett County Police have arrested two Lawrenceville men in connection with the murder of their neighbor.  On Wednesday, police found 64-year-old Parviz Moledina stabbed to death in her home on 1403 Alamein Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville. Her 2007 Volvo station wagon was reported missing. It was later found on Thanksgiving Day outside the Bass Pro Shop at Sugarloaf Mills Mall. Police issued search warrants after searching Moledina's car. On Saturday morning, they arrested Eric Lamont Bolling and Justin Eldridge. See the full story on Lawrenceville Patch.

Meth House Will Come Down May 30

Crews were prepping site of fatal 2011 fire Thursday, but heavy equipment will begin demolition Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Crews from a demolition company and Atlanta Gas were on scene at 1197 Spring Mill Drive Thursday to begin the process that many people have been waiting for at the former meth house. The site where three young children died in an explosion and fire caused by chemicals used to make methamphetamine will be leveled Wednesday, May 30. Site of Fatal Meth House Fire on Spring Mill Drive to be Demolished

Burned-out, boarded-up house has been constant reminder of February, 2011 fire tragedy.

The lingering reminder of a meth house explosion and fire that took the lives of three young children last year in the Mountain Park area of Lilburn is expected to be bulldozed away this week. The Gwinnett County Police Department said in a press release Tuesday that the house located at 1197 Spring Mill Drive is scheduled to be demolished, possibly in the next few days. Update: 2 Shot, Killed in Norcross Area

Vandara Nao of Stone Mountain has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Updated Monday, May 14, 12:55 p.m. Two men were shot and killed Friday evening at an apartment complex in unincorporated Norcross in what police believe may be a drug-related incident. Gwinnett County Police were dispatched around to Highland Walk Apartments, located at 6069 S. Norcross Tucker Road, around 11:30 p.m. May 11, according to a press release from police spokesman Officer Jeffery Richter. When officers arrived near building 300, they noticed gunshot wounds to the two men, who died at the scene. The two victims were Javier “Pancho” Deveaux, 21, and Haben Kifle, 19, both of Stone Mountain, according to a press release Monday. Murder Suspect Turns Self In

Brandon Prasad was wanted for the murder of Jose De Manuel Alfaro.

The search for a murder suspect is now over. Gwinnett County Police spokesperson Cpl. Jake Smith says Brandon Prasad turned himself in Wednesday evening at GCPD headquarters at about 8:30 p.m.  Prasad, 17 and of Lawrenceville, was wanted for the murder of 18-year-old Jose De Manuel Alfaro also of Lawrenceville. Alfaro was found dead late Monday evening with two gun shots to his chest. During their search for him, police considered Prasad to be armed and dangerous. Smith says Prasad was taken in to custody without incident. Prasad’s charges include one count of felony murder, one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime against a person, and one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Macon Police Search Again for Lauren Giddings' Remains, Report Says

Police are searching a landfill for the remains not yet found of the Mercer University Law School graduate.

Macon police are searching a Twiggs County landfill for the remains of Lauren Giddings, 11Alive reported, citing Associated Press. Stephen Mark McDaniel, 25, a Parkview High School graduate, was charged with Giddings' murder and dismemberment. McDaniel lived next door to Giddings in a Macon apartment building. Giddings was reported missing on June 25, and five days later, police found her torso wrapped in plastic in a garbage bin next to the apartment building. FBI agents and police officers have volunteered to help with the latest search, the report said.

New Charges for Lilburn Man Accused in Macon Murder

Police charge Stephen McDaniel with seven counts of sexual exploitation of children.

Stephen McDaniel, the Lilburn native accused in the brutal June murder of his Macon law-school classmate, faces new charges of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Macon Police Department. According to a Macon PD press release, Police Chief Mike Burns and Bibb County District Attorney Greg Winters said warrants were signed Tuesday afternoon charging McDaniel with seven counts of sexual exploitation of children. McDaniel, 25, a Parkview High School graduate, is already in the Bibb County jail, accused in the murder of Lauren Giddings, a fellow graduate of the Mercer University law school and his next-door neighbor. Former high-school classmates remember Stephen Mark McDaniel, who is charged with murder of Lauren Giddings in Macon.

The news of the former Parkview High School graduate being charged with a gruesome murder in Macon, drew some mixed responses to those who went to school and church with him in Lilburn. Stephen Mark McDaniel, 25, who is suspected in the killing and dismemberment of fellow Mercer Law School graduate Lauren Giddings, was described as “quiet,” “kind of socially awkward” and “weird” by former classmates. McDaniel, a 2004 Parkview graduate, had been in the Bibb County jail for the past month on unrelated burglary charges, according to jail records, before he was served a murder warrant Tuesday night for the death of Giddings, his next-door neighbor at a Macon apartment. One Dead, Two Critically Wounded in Shooting at Colony Apartments

A suspect was arrested; police said he was holding two children and a woman hostage near the scene of the crime.

One man was killed and another man and a woman were critically injured in a shooting at the Colony of Stone Mountain apartment complex in unincorporated Stone Mountain. A man who was holding two children and a woman hostage near the crime scene has been arrested, DeKalb police said. He is charged with murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping.  Police officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance call found the three victims at 2:20 Wednesday morning. The victims were taken to a hospital. The dead man is believed to be in his 20s, police said in a statement. He wasn't identified in the release.
