Tips for Making New Year's Fitness Resolutions Stick

A local fitness expert shares tips on staying healthy in the new year.

Most people who resolve to stay fit in the new year, lose that momentum by the end of year, according to statistics. In short, they're right back where they were months ago. If you don't want to be that person, it may be time to make a resolution for that resolution. Either don't make resolutions, or find a way to stick to a plan. To help, we've gathered tips from local fitness club owner Mike Ross, who leads Lilburn's Snap Fitness center.  The key is finding support and motivation to achieve results, experts say. What things would you like to see take place in Lilburn in 2013.

Now that 2012 has come to a close, it's time to look forward into the new year. Personally, that could be resolving to work out more, to travel more, to start a family, or anything else.  As residents of Lilburn, we want to know what you hope for the city as it moves into 2013. -- Put your ideas in the comment section below. -- Do you want more community events, or business-related seminars? Moms Talk: A New Year, A New Pile of Stuff

The holiday season is officially over, and a lot of moms are looking at their kids’ holiday loot and thinking the universal question: “Where do I put all this stuff?” Let's put our heads together and tackle the clutter!

I stood in the middle of the toy room floor, surveying the chaos left over from Christmas with a nervous twitch in my eye. I realized I needed help, and I thought some of you might too.  Let me preface all my complaining by saying I recognize this to be a first world problem. "Help! I have too much stuff!" Yeah, I know.  Here's the deal: My kids were very blessed by generous family members this year, and they racked up a considerable amount of fantastic new toys and gifts. I’m very grateful for all they got, but I also don’t really have any extra space in my little house. What I’m in need of is a good purging and organizing session to make room for the new things, and judging by the new store displays of bins and shelves and boxes cropping…
