In this week’s Moms Talk we discuss kids and dogs. What’s the right age for a child to have a pup? How much pet care responsibility should the child take on? We’ll talk about all this and more.
My daughter wanted a dog for years, but she had a big obstacle in her way. Me. I am highly allergic to dogs and cats, so I never had a deep, intense friendship with an animal as I was growing up. I just didn’t like them. They’re smelly and have moist noses and shed and make me very, very sick. Summers has single-handedly started (in her home) a non-profit organization, Nutz 4 Mutz Rescue and Adoptions, Inc., that takes in stray dogs. She goes to the pet store in an attempt to find them good homes, and does whatever it takes to see that the animals have a chance to live out the rest of their lives being loved. She does not discriminate between breeds, as she takes in all types, sizes and ages. In our new Pet Spotlight feature, Lilburn Patch will take a regular look at stories, issues and tips that involve pet ownership. We also will highlight …
