It's run by a big eastern syndicate, you know.” – Lucy van Pelt to Charlie Brown in “A Charlie Brown Christmas” Americans have worried about losing the true meaning of Christmas since at least 1965, when Charlie Brown lamented the holiday’s commercialization in a Peanuts special. This year, there’s a movement afoot to bring Christmas closer to home. An apparently anonymous essay circulating on the Web has drawn the attention of people in Georgia. It calls for buying local services as gifts instead of products manufactured in foreign countries: You see, Christmas is no longer about draining American pockets so that China can build another glittering city…

Meet the Owner: Cary Hamilton talks about adding a bar to his restaurant, The Artisan.
The Artisan owner Cary Hamilton seems to have almost fallen into the food industry. As a commercial realtor, he originally purchased the restaurant's building in 2007 and became a silent owner when his niece purchased the restaurant, which was Continental Park Cafe then. His niece decided the business wasn't for her, and Hamilton decided to make it his own and revamp the place. Re-opening doors Jan. 1 this year, Hamilton has already expanded the restaurant's menu to now serve a number of French, Mediterranean, Italian and American style dishes, and he's in the process of doing more. Multi-cultural demographics attracted entrepreneur Maureen Yancy to open MY Beauty, a multi-ethnic beauty supply store in Lilburn.
Among other things, multi-cultural demographics attracted entrepreneur Maureen Yancy to open MY Beauty, a multi-ethnic beauty supply store in Lilburn. MY Beauty opened its doors to the public this past Saturday, Sept. 24, with a grand opening celebration. I knew this store had something special when I arrived to meet with Yancy. I was surprised when, instead of waiting for me to walk in, someone opened the front door and held it open for me. The bigger surprise was that it wasn’t just a cashier, it was the owner herself greeting me at the door. It’s not often a business owner is literally holding the door open for her customers. Maureen’s friendly smile, the jazz music playing in the background, and the upscale products on the walls were…
