Lilburn Singer a Semifinalist in Stars of Tomorrow

Stars of Tomorrow semifinalists take the stage at The Buckhead Theatre on Jan. 13.

Brendan Taliaferro, 15, of Lilburn, is one of the top 20 semifinalists for the Stars of Tomorrow singing contest that begins on Sunday. This fall, Variety of Georgia announced its second annual talent statewide competition, Stars of Tomorrow, and the Lilburn hopeful is one of six from the Gwinnett County area vying for a win. Eligible hopefuls from Georgia submitted videos of their best vocal performance and Brendan was one of those who made the final cut. Stars of Tomorrow hosts the semi-final competition at The Buckhead Theatre on January 13th. This showcase of talent allows judges to pick the top 10 finalists to perform at the final competition at the Fox Theatre on March 17, 2013. The top 20 semifinalists from around the state include…

Lilburn Teen is Stars of Tomorrow Finalist

Top 10 singers to perform in 'Stars of Tomorrow' final competition March 11 at the Fox Theatre.

Jenna Bass, 17, of Lilburn and Kirstyn Burkhalter, 15, of Snellville are among the 10 finalists competing in the inaugural “Stars of Tomorrow” competition Sunday, March 11. Other finalists are Lydia Flock, 15, of Atlanta; Nariah Francis, 17, of Atlanta; Lauren Hill, 13, of Flowery Branch; Lindsey Marcus, 15, of Dunwoody; Daniel Mata, 15, of Marietta; Krysta Nick, 14, of Peachtree City; Destini Shelton, 16, of Douglasville; and Marguerite Yearns, 13, of Sandy Springs. Tickets for just $15 are still available but going fast for the final competition in the Egyptian Ballroom of the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Variety of Georgia. Teen 'Stars of Tomorrow' Sought

Variety of Georgia inviting teenagers to enter singing competition by submitting audition videos.

Variety Club of Georgia is looking for teenagers who sing who want to become tomorrow’s stars. Talented teens ages 13-19 from all over the state can submit audition videos through Dec. 15. The winner will earn a trip for four to Universal Studios in Hollywood, an audition for the Theatre of the Stars series in Atlanta, and other career opportunities. “Stars of Tomorrow” is being co-chaired by Buckhead residents Carolyn Lee Wills and Mike Dangerfield, former chief barker of Variety of Georgia. The committee includes members from Atlanta, Brookhaven, Buckhead, Decatur, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Roswell, Sandy Springs, Smyrna, Vinings, and other communities.
