The popular destination can be seen from all over Gwinnett County.
If you've ever been to Stone Mountain, you know just how much of Atlanta you can see from the top - 60 miles out on a clear day! It's a breathtaking sight, but did you know that the mountain is visible in some pretty surprising places around Gwinnett? The large granite protrusion is visible from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, a number of apartment homes in Buckhead, Memorial Drive, and of course many backroads all over Gwinnett County. For many of us, it's the landmark we see driving down Highway 78 that tells us we're almost home. Take a minute, snap a photo of your view of the mountain and share it with us, with a caption that includes your location.

Each week Patch stops by a local restaurant to find a great place to grab a bite. Check out this week's pick.
My go-to family dinners, when I can't think of anything else, are quesadillas and fajitas. My family has even requested them. I'd been to restaurants that served these dishes and, although they were delicious, didn't leave me thinking they were impossible to recreate. A trip to El Torero Mexican Restaurant in Stone Mountain put my little efforts to shame. After looking over the big menu of myriad choices, I ordered the fajita special with shrimp. It's a good thing I didn't pig out too much on those complimentary crispy tortilla chips and spicy salsa, because my food arrived less than ten minutes after I ordered. At first glance, I didn't see much shrimp, and was thinking maybe I should have ordered the chicken instead. I was wrong; the …

There's more than the specialty to enjoy at this Cajun and soul food restaurant in Stone Mountain
Each week, Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here is this week's choice: Cajun's Best Po-Boys Cajun's Best Po-Boys may not be the first establishment you notice when you're tooling down S. Indian Creek Drive or Redan Road in Stone Mountain, but for the sake of your tastebuds, it's worth finding. The restaurant is located at one end of a Chevron gas station plaza. The smell of spices and fresh-made food greets visitors as soon as they walk through the door. As far as seating, there is a counter with a few bar stools, and two seats for folks to play chess. Carry-out might be your best bet, especially if you've got several folks with you. Now, back to the aroma. It makes such a great …
