The main attraction on Tucker's Main Street is on a roll.
When it opened in late summer, Local No. 7 became a victim of its own success. From the first day, it was inundated with people and the staff was caught off guard. There were long waits for tables and orders, much to the consternation of hungry customers eager to try the new place. The management took a lot of flak but at least the demand proved the need for such an establishment. Part of the initial enthusiasm which greeted its opening was because no alcohol had been served on Tucker's Main Street in decades. After that awkward start, the restaurant and its staff swiftly made amends. They are now more settled and efficient and appear to have hit their stride. Taquerias are a dime a dozen. Really good ones are less so. Case in point: Taqueria San Pancho, which falls under the latter category and, as luck would have it, is located in Tucker on DeKalb's border with Gwinnett. I went to San Pancho a couple of times this week after reading about it in Creative Loafing and wondering what the fuss was about. I am already familiar with El Taco Naco (cheap, basic, delicious) and the venerable Taqueria Los Hermanos (so much more than a taqueria), both of which were also mentioned in Creative Loafing's annual Best of Atlanta edition as being exceptional. A Snellville man's QT card was charged more than $300 in two hours, all at QT stations.
Earlier this month, a 50-year-old man reported $308.15 was charged to his QuikTrip credit card after someone broke into his car and stole the card. After taking the card, the suspect(s) went to three separate QuikTrips. The first stop was at a QT in Snellville at 3490 Centerville Highway, where one transaction of $83.66 was made at 7:06 a.m. The next stop was the QuikTrip located on 4900 Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn, where the suspect(s) made three separate transactions totaling $213.99. The transactions took place between 7:14 a.m. and 7:38 a.m. Finally, the third QuikTrip stop was made in Tucker at 1999 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, where $10.50 was spent on the card at 9:17 a.m. The incident is listed as an FTC fraud and there …

A father and son are in custody in the case of a teenager found dead in the trunk of her car in Lucky Shoals Park.
A father and son have been apprehended for the killing of Andrea Eleni Nassos, according to a statement by Capt. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department. Nassos, 18, was found dead on the morning of May 20 in the trunk of her car at Lucky Shoals Park on the Tucker-Norcross border. The car had been set on fire and was discovered by a police officer on patrol. The suspects are identified as Ignacio Mejia, 50, and his son, Boris Mejia, 18, who was located in Houston, Texas, by the Houston Police Department in coordination with the GCPD Homicide Unit. Boris Mejia is described as a friend of Nassos who was known within her circle of friends. Capt. Smith said in the statement: "The investigation in Houston revealed further …
