On March 8, Lilburn Police Department released a report of a recent robbery and abduction at a local Walgreens pharmacy.
Lilburn Police Department is now releasing information on the report of an armed robbery and kidnapping that happened at a Walgreens store. According to the report, the incidents happened on Feb. 23 at the Walgreens pharmacy, located at 4235 Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn. Police released the report on March 8. The report indicates that no arrests were made at the time of the crime, and that no injuries were reported. According to the report, the incident began about 9:50 p.m. when a victim was allegedly robbed at the Walgreens while returning four movies to the Redbox unit located outside the store. Three suspects are in custody following to an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo on Lawrenceville Highway in December.
All three suspects in a recent armed robbery of a Wells Fargo bank near Lilburn are now in custody, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's website. Marcus Rashed Rutledge, who was located and arrested Tuesday; Thomas Birdsong, who turned himself in to police after seeing media coverage; and Jamar Terrel, who was arrested shortly after the robbery are all in Gwinnet County Detention Center. All three men face charges of felony armed robbery and are being held without bond. Police believe Terrell and Rutledge were the armed gunmen in the robbery, and that Birdsong acted as lookout during the Dec. 28 robbery of the Wells Fargo, located at 3065 Lawrenceville Highway. Gwinnett County Police Department have identified Marcus Rutledge, 24, and Thomas Birdsong, 41, as two robbery suspects who have yet to be located.
Gwinnett County police are looking for two men suspected in the armed robbery of a nearby Wells Fargo bank in unincorporated Lawrenceville. The men: Marcus Rutledge, 24, and Thomas Birdsong, 41, both have active warrants for their arrests in connection with the Dec. 28 robbery near Lilburn. Another man, 26-year-old Jamar Terrell is in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center and charged with armed robbery. Two Stone Mountain teens are in the Gwinnett County jail, charged with the September robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank on Killian Hill, ajc.com reported. Tevin Contrell Jones, 18, was arrested April 16, and Kentay Okera Fields, 17, was taken in on Friday, the report said. The two are allegedly the pair that went into the bank twice, leaving again to change clothes, on Sept. 16, before demanding money from a teller the third time. The teller slipped a dye pack into the bank bag, which exploded when the robbers left the building. Police got a tip, the ajc.com report said, and investigators were able to match prints at the bank from the suspects. Two men have been charged in a series of recent robberies around Metro Atlanta, including that of a Wells Fargo Bank in unincorporated Lilburn and a SunTrust branch in Norcross. Henry Lee Johnson, 20, and Ebanga Asuamah, 27, were arrested and charged with the Lilburn and Norcross robberies, Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County police said. Additional charges are being investigated by police in Gwinnett, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and the FBI, Smith said in an email. The Wells Fargo Bank on Lawrenceville Highway was robbed Friday, the second time this year the bank has been hit by robbers. The suspect entered the bank at about 10:35 Friday morning and demanded money in a note to a teller. The bank handed over an undisclosed amount. The suspect drove off in a late-model grey pickup truck with an extended cab, heading in the direction of Tucker, Lilburn Police Captain Ben Haynes said in an emailed statement. Gwinnett County police are looking for two suspects in a Sept. 16 robbery at Wells Fargo on Killian Hill in unincorporated Lilburn, and the bank is offering as much as $5,000 for information leading to the suspects' arrest. One suspect is about 6'1 to 6'2" tall and has a medium build. He was clean-shaven and in his early 20s. Ivy Cromer had the most eventful and unexpected day of the year in Lilburn on Friday. Cromer, 57, was the witness and 911 caller who helped police apprehend the four people who allegedly committed the Wells Fargo robbery on Lawrenceville Highway. When he pulled into the bank's parking lot at 9 a.m to make a transaction, he immediately saw something fishy when he noticed a woman and two men walking into the bank's entrance.
