There was some good and some not-so-good on the field at Parkview High School's spring football scrimmage Friday, but the Panthers still took an important step in their early preparations for the 2012 season. The annual Orange-vs.-White scrimmage, which ended two weeks of spring practices, featured big plays on offense and defense. Three interceptions were returned for touchdowns, and another long scoring play came on offense as the Orange beat the White 28-6 in the program's first spring srimmage under the lights at the Big Orange Jungle. Maceo Dubose and Kurt Hickman returned interceptions for scores and running back Chris Carson, who already has more than a dozen college-scholarship offers, scored on a 90-yard run to pace the Orange. …

Parkview Wins Fourth in a Row

Chris Carson scored three TDs as the Panthers spoiled Central Gwinnett's homecoming.

The Parkview Panthers played spoiler for the Central Gwinnett homecoming and beat the Black Knights 22-15 Friday night in Lawrenceville. The defiant Parkview defense held the team together by coming up with big plays to slow down the quick Central Gwinnett offense. Twenty seconds into the game, Central Gwinnett's first play from scrimmage ended with an interception by Parkview's Bryce Lewis, who returned it to the 8-yard line. A half minute later, Chris Carson scored the first of his three touchdowns to put Parkview up 7-0. The next possession, Central Gwinnett threw its second interception, picked off by Shaquille Vereen. Player of the Week: Chris Carson

Parkview running back scored three touchdowns in 30-13 win over Shiloh.

Lilburn Patch High School Football Honor Roll Chris Carson/Parkview Junior running back Chris Carson rushed 32 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns in a 30-13 victory Shiloh Generals last week. Carson also had a 2-point conversion and two receptions for 42 yards. Other top performers: PARKVIEW Patrick Flowe: Rushed 11 times for 42 yards and a touchdown and also had eight tackles and an interception. Jack Esmonde: Completed 6 of 10 passes for 98 yards. Parkview Runs Past Shiloh 30-13

Parkview’s run game shines in first region matchup against Shiloh.

Chris Carson rushed for three touchdowns for Parkview as the Panthers beat Shiloh 30-13 in Lilburn Friday night. He ended the game with 201 yards rushing and on 30 carries and 42 yards receiving. And Carson did it all on his birthday. Parkview (1-2) defeated Shiloh (1-3) in the Region 8-AAAAA opener for Parkview. Shiloh had no late rally Friday night like it did in a 28-19 win against South Gwinnett last week. Parkview decided to run the ball early in the game with a 71-yard drive that ended in a fumble by Patrick Flowe. Shiloh scored early in the second quarter on a one-yard touchdown run.
