If you are interested in adopting any of these adorable dogs, call the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter at 770-339-3200 and refer to the animal ID# listed with the photo. Interested in volunteering at the shelter? Complete the Gwinnett Animal Shelter volunteer form. Volunteers can help at the shelter by walking dogs, handling cats and kittens, cleaning and sanitizing animal areas and assisting citizens.

The city of Lilburn is working to help homeless pets find forever homes.
The city of Lilburn is one of the newest partners of Homeless Pet Clubs of America, an Atlanta-based organization that helps students, civic leaders and business partners promote animal welfare. The city joined in March "in effort to create awareness and help reduce the number of homeless pets in the Gwinnett area," according to the city's newsletter. It will be working with the Gwinnett County Animal Shelter. As a business club, the city of Lilburn will sponsor a shelter animal for free, and then use social media and word of mouth to find a home for the animal.
