Seven Parkview High football players signed letters of intent at a special ceremony after school Wednesday.
Wednesday was a moment of celebration for seven Parkview High athletes who officially signed letters of intent to play college football. Those present at the Parkview High signing ceremony (and the colleges they will be attending) were: "We congratulate all of the athletes, all of the families, all of you guys for the great support (over) the year," said Head Coach Cecil Flowe at the ceremony. "These guys sitting on this table made a lot of our success possible." Besides the seven students signing letters of intent Wednesday, Flowe said there may be as many as 10 football players total signing scholarships. "This is …

Five Parkview High athletes, including four from the football team, signed college scholarships Wednesday.
The Parkview High School cafeteria was filled Wednesday with well-wishers who watched some of the school's best athletes make their college intentions official. The school held a National Signing Day celebration just after the final bell to show its appreciation with balloons, cakes and plenty of flashes from cameras. In all, five Panthers signed, including a baseball player, the head football coach's son and a football player who could not completely let the cat out of the bag. Colby Smith, a tight end/defensive end who caught 12 passes for 172 yards last season, knows where he's going to play in college, but he just can't say where. It has something to do with appointments not being official until April, according to head coach Cecil …

Players take the next step in their football progress by signing national letters of intent.
National Signing Day was a great beginning for local high school athletes who signed national letters of intent to play college football. It was a pretty decent ending, too. “This is an exciting day,” said Berkmar’s versatile Xaviir Briggs, who signed a combined football/baseball scholarship Wednesday with Tuskegee. “I’ve been waiting for this a long time. Four long years.” Briggs was joined by teammates Justyn Shackleford (Tulane), Antonio Dill (Miles) and Rashaud Lewis (Ft. Scott, Kan., Community College) during an after-school reception to honor the Berkmar’s football scholarship winners. Also Wednesday, Parkview had four players sign — Clayton Truitt (Charleston Southern), Joe Anderson (Lenoir-Rhyne), Marquis Webb (Lenoir-Rhyne) and …
