ReplyThanks for your comments, Patch readers. While your thoughts are welcome, let us not forget that there are scholarships for just about everything these days. There are scholarships for people who are blind, deaf, Catholic, left-handed and aspiring journalists. Rather than focus on the criteria set by this individual donor, let's celebrate the journey that this local teen is about to begin. She will be able to reach back and help someone behind her because someone helped her.

On the article Update: Pebblebrook Makes America's Most Challenging High Schools List

At the time the story was written, Pebblebrook was not on the list. If you go to the district's own announcement about this list (http://cobbcast.cobbk12.org/?p=5652), there's no mention of Pebblebrook. That's because amendments have been—and continue to be—made to this list, which is fluid. Pope High, for example, was not on the original list, but is ranked No. 48 on the current statewide list and No. 880 on the national list.

These lists are fluid, AW. Rankings change. And some schools petition to be added to lists like this after they are released. For example, Pope High was not on the original list of most challenging high schools. That might have been the case with Pebblebrook, too.

Not sure if you've been following the story, but it was Andrews' alleged pilfering of wallets while a student at Wheeler High School and text messages between friends about the thefts that reopened this case. He was arrested at Wheeler on the theft charges.
