Camp Creek Elementary Gets New Principal

Valerie Robinett becomes principal effective June 3.

The Gwinnett County school board has appointed a veteran educator to take over the helm of Camp Creek Elementary.

In a special called meeting May 9, board members approved a transfer of Valerie Robinett to Camp Creek Elementary. She is currently the principal at Mountain Park Elementary in Lilburn.

In addition, she is a 2007 graduate of the district's Quality-Plus Leader Academy. She takes over for Kathy Jones, who is retiring.

Her appointment is effective June 3.

  • 2003-2007 -- Assistant Principal, Duluth High
  • 2000-2003 -- Gifted World Geography and Gifted U.S. History Teacher, Parkview High
  • 1999-2000 -- 6th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher, Shiloh Middle
  • 1998-1999 -- U.S. History and Political Systems Teacher, Parkview High

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science education – University of Georgia
  • Master’s degree in educational leadership – University of Georgia
  • Specialist’s degree in educational leadership – University of Georgia
