Donation Account Set up for Family of Mother, Daughter Killed in Hit-and-Run

A donation fund has been set up for the family of the mother and daughter who were killed in a hit-and-run last Thursday (July 18). 

Lilburn residents Maria Alicia Cervantes-Maldonado, 36, and Melissa Paola Cervantes, 6, were walking on the sidewalk in front of Calvary Baptist Church on Lawrenceville Highway when a driver allegedly hopped the curb and struck them with his car. The mother and daughter died at the scene, and the driver, Spencer Todd Prigmore, has been arrested and charged in the incident.

Angel Alonso, who ran for a seat on the Lilburn City Council in 2011, is working with the family of the deceased and taking a collection to provide them help.
